Girls Gone Wine

A talented trio of girlfriends turned heads in 2006 when they opened a winery called “Girls Gone Wine” that offered free tastings inside a “funky, sassy” Hochatown boutique. Fourteen years later, it’s one of the most beloved wineries in the state. After perusing through humorous knickknacks and admiring their wine collection, walk on up to their tasting bar for a free sampling. Chandra, Michelle, and Rhonda not only ferment and produce all varietals, but both the indoor and outdoor seating is charming, colorful, and spacious.

Vojai’s Winery

Across U.S. Route 259 from Girls Gone Wine lies Vojai’s, one of the most underrated southeast Oklahoma wineries. Vojai’s typical bottles 23 different types of wine, including the Red Sky Black Cherry Pinot Noir, Running Wild Chardonnay, and Night Horse Cabernet Sauvignon. We appreciate the sizable seating area, with its tin paneling, wood floors, and open air. Interestingly enough, the winery is co-owned by Vojai Reed, a former champion Bassmaster! The Reed family takes great pride in their delicious vino.

Fish Tales Winery & Bistro

Fish Tales narrowly thwarted newcomer Knotted Rope Winery to cap this list of southeast Oklahoma wineries. A trip to Fish Tales is as much a culinary voyage as it is an aromatic trip through Oklahoman wine country. Start your visit with a free tasting before ordering an artisanal salad and a bottle for the table. Their vineyard, which lies 45 miles northwest of the winery, specializes in Muscadine grapes, a native Oklahoma vine.
